Ground beef in a tube vs fresh?
Has anyone tried those and how does it compare? I tin can't remember if information technology's frozen or thawed. I see it in passing on occassion. I try to employ upward all the ground meat in a tray when I buy them fresh because I don't have a vacuum sealer. May exist these take preservatives and keep longer? Speaking of which, air chilled chicken seems to keep much longer than the generic multifariousness. 3-4 days in the fridge I start to smell the funkiness of the regular chicken bitbairbchilled o can proceed for a damn week+ and it still has no smell which is a bit alarming.

Well, they are amend sealed, I do not like information technology as much equally it doesn't gustation as fresh. In a chilli it is fine, merely I would non use them to make hamburgers.
How much do you demand to freeze? When I buy the Costco trays, I will separate them upwardly, double wrap the chunks in plastic wrap then put it in a ziplock purse. They will terminal a few months this way, if I buy a lot, then I vacuum seal. The other selection that works well is I will melt it fresh with my base of operations seasoning, and then stick them in ziplock bags. And then I already have precooked ground beef, or meatballs.
On a 'smart' device that isn't ever and then smart. So please forgive the autocorrects and typos. If it bothers you lot, so don't read my posts, just don't waste material my fourth dimension correcting me. If you lot can get past the typos, then my posts more often than not have some value.

The trouble with the basis beef tube is that you rarely see 1 with at least a small-scale clear spot on the packaging where you lot get to see the bodily basis beef.
You're taking your chances.
I find that the tubes are non every bit lean.
The tray at Walmart (for the same $ten) at least lets you clearly come across what you lot are buying.
If it own't broke, don't fix it!

Start of all, don't continue fresh chicken in your fridge for that long. Two days max no thing how far in advance the BB4 date is.
The one lb ground beefiness tubes I buy and use just for making burgers in a pan or griddle. Piece them into pucks and blast em downwardly. For all other footing beef uses I purchase the tray.
Just like chicken, footing beefiness in the tray (the non-gas filled trays) should be in your fridge no longer than 1 day. Freeze or consume.

I used to buy tubes simply they are basis too damn fine. At present I buy a iv lb tray and split up it into quarters and ziploc it similar Macx2mommy, but and so I pack those bags together into a larger freezer purse.

Do grocers get poultry delivered every mean solar day? I always imagined they had stock sitting in the back enough to final until their next delivery which is but temperatures similar to our habitation fridges. And what has gas practise they use to seal the packages?

The effect I have with the tubes is that the stuff comes out looking like a paste. It's non the right texture for the dishes I need ground beef/craven for.

The grocer's meat libation storage temperatures are libation than their display instance temps and home fridges. Proficient meat managers don't permit their poultry to be on display for more than a couple of days regardless of poultry found pre-packed BB4s.
The gas with low oxygen content helps preserve the meat.

I stopped ownership the tubes of footing beef several months ago in favor of ownership trays that I divide upward and freeze. I observe the quality somewhat better, the sale price is often a bit lower, I can portion into whatever weights I want, and when I want to use some right abroad, it doesn't have to exist thawed.
I've never purchased ground chicken in tubes. I saw the thawed product once, and that was plenty for me to rule out buying it.

...every bit I've already mentioned in this thread, the problem with tube anything, is that you lot don't get to run into the bodily product until after y'all take it home and open it, unlike the trays, where you can conspicuously run into what yous are really buying.
